It is written in the eyes of the kids. The colorful illustrations are bright side notes of the playful story. I chuckled as the lines such as&nbsp;&#8220;Bird are to chase.&#8221; and &#8220;A purse is to empty.&#8221;&nbsp;reminded me what <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jackypeng.com\/blog\/category\/kangkang\/\">KangKang<\/a> usually did everyday.&nbsp;And the&nbsp;breezy rhythm makes the story easy to read. <\/p>\n<p>I read this story to KangKang last night, but he did not enjoy the book so much&nbsp;as his dad did. Probably that&#8217;s because Chinese is now his most frequent used language. Furthermore, some scenes of the book are in the US which our KangKang has never seen before. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Toes Are to Tickle<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; by Shen Roddie, Kady MacDonald Denton&nbsp;(Illustrator)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Morning is for waking up!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An egg is to dip. <\/p>\n<p>Bread is for more jam, please.<\/p>\n<p>Milk is to give some to the cat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Clothes are for putting on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>and pulling off.<\/p>\n<p>A mirror is for making faces.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Toes are to tickle. <\/p>\n<p>Shoes are for taking feet out for a walk.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A stroller is for pushing.<\/p>\n<p>A see-saw is for feeling funny in the tummy.<\/p>\n<p>Ducks are to feed.<\/p>\n<p>Bird are to chase.<\/p>\n<p>Flowers are to smell.<\/p>\n<p>A tree is hide behind.<\/p>\n<p>Wind is to blow in your face.<\/p>\n<p>Laughing is so everyone&nbsp; knows you&#8217;re happy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Blankets are for making tents.<\/p>\n<p>Chairs are for climbing.<\/p>\n<p>Boxes are to see what&#8217;s in them.<\/p>\n<p>A purse is to empty.<\/p>\n<p>Books are to choose from.<\/p>\n<p>Toys are for taking out.<\/p>\n<p>A cat is to love.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Peas are for counting. Jell-O is for wobbling.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Teeth are to brush up and down. <\/p>\n<p>A bath is for sailing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Daddy is for one last ride.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mommy is for one more cuddle&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>one more story&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>and kissing good night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Good night!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Toes Are to Tickle&nbsp;is about a day of the life of an US family.
