{"id":305,"date":"2007-08-31T01:09:21","date_gmt":"2007-08-30T17:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.jackypeng.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/31\/tiny-world-war-on-campus\/"},"modified":"2007-08-31T01:21:24","modified_gmt":"2007-08-30T17:21:24","slug":"tiny-world-war-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jackypeng.com\/blog\/2007\/08\/tiny-world-war-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiny world war on campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I was an university student, I heard of many stories about Uygur students fighting with Chinese students, DongBei students fighting with Teochow (Chaozhou) students, Cantonese students fighting with HuBei students&#8230; <\/p>\n<p>Birds of a feather flock together.&nbsp; Strongly hold people the bonds of having common memories and customs, eating similar food&nbsp;and speaking the same accent.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>But sometimes there are exceptions.<\/p>\n<p>I met&nbsp;a young Chinese student, Xiao Wang,&nbsp;few days ago.&nbsp; He studies in a Singapore private university, a university running UK and Australian degree programs.&nbsp; Striving to build a regional education hub, Singapore government encourages these&nbsp;universities reach out to recruit students from developing countries.&nbsp; Xiao Wang&#8217;s school has students from China, Vietnam, Russia, Africa and many others places.<\/p>\n<p>Talking about life on campus, I asked him whether there was any fight in his school.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>He got excited in this topic.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have many Mongolian students. &#8220;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Oh&#8230;?&#8221; I am a bit surprised.&nbsp; A country with a vast land, small population,&nbsp;north to China.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are big, strong and haughty.
